THE SHACK

The Shack – Restrobar located at Parle East. Don’t go by the same . It has that Goan Shack feel as the place is owned by a Konkani family. Well deserved place in that Area where many of the restaurants are either VEG or a Standalone Bar.

Surprised to see being packed , regulars , family crowd. It does boasts of some good sizzlers. Two sections .. the Den has that Restro look and the upper section has the Shack feel.

Coming to what we tasted , it was basically a Mix of Indian Chinese and a sizzler with a LONG ISLAND ICE TEA which was indeed good.

ROZALI KABAB : Chicken Brest stuffed with Chicken Kheema rolled and grilled well. After a long time have got a perfect chicken ( not under not over) nicely done with Indian spices balanced well and cheese nicely marinated. Good start.

AFRO CHICKEN – the word AFRO takes you to POPTATES as they have some famous dishes by that name using Afro spices. here it was a Chinese preparation in schezwan sauce. Very soft and juicy served with bell pepper and onions. Good.

CHILLI CHEESE TOAST – was in two mind to order this dish , but it was nice , crunchy and nicely topped with cheese , onion green chill’s and the shine of Amul butter was the icing on the cake. LOVED it .. goes well with a beer or a cocktail.

CHILLI CHICKEN SIZZLER – served with Pepper sauce . good portion , rice was the basic element went well with the sauce. the other ingredients like french fries , veggies , fried chicken complimented each other. It is a dish which is filling. Meal by itself.

BUTTER CHICKEN – the first one was sweet , sent it back .. changed it for extra spicy missed that creaminess but overall the shredded chicken and the gravy was good had a nice texture and went well with the Naan.

Overall – Indeed a welcome change in this part of the world. I personally liked the food and ambience. Love Indian food . for me – I would recommend it. the prices are not that high and the plus point is , its inclusive of all the taxes which technically mean 25% + TAX ( Thanks to the Government ) are added in the price. I bet you won’t get a pinch paying the price for the food and service which you got.

Yes – if in that area will surely jump in for a beer and butter chicken , till then cheers.

Have a great weekend….
