MockingBird Cafe – Nice vibrant place opened next to Indian Summer ( same owner ) Maybe the name inspired by the Famous Novel To Kill A mocking Bird .
Hardly in its second month and Packed ( reservation a must)
Nicely done interiors – bar fully stocked. Food hmm , let’s check out:
Espresso Martini – good.
Nutty Pineapple – excellent – do try out.
Blueberry & berry Martini – refreshing (could have been better had it been served chilled)
Three Bean Salad : the punch was missing , tried something different , could have been better ( lettuce -cherry tomatoes -French beans/ kidney beans / black eyed beans/fava beans ) nice elements .. a bit crunchy cause of the crushes nachos.
Rawas Bao – Freshness of Bao missing , rawas done nicely .. balance was nice .. Khimchi/Sriracha.
Chicken Skewers – Cafreal marination ( goan using coriander / garlic / pepper ..) would have loved had it been a bit Juicy . overall ok.
Mixed Cheese Chilly – Batter fried cottage cheese – chunks of cottage cheese which were hard .. sauce good mix of chilly and Sriracha .OK
Grilled Aborigine rolls – wow this stood out . The salsa sauce was amazing . had that tangy flavour . Thin sliced pan fried eggplant rolled with a filling of ricotta cheese . Try it.
Bianco Pizza : STAR a killer of a dish. Thin Crust . great texture perfectly stone baked. Mozzarella/cheddar/Mascarpone/Goat cheese… nice combination a hint of garlic and basil .
Lemon Grass Rawas – Fresh , looked neat and tasted good.
Dhanshak Roast Chicken – Innovation , nicely marinated chicken , texture was ok … had a parsi touch to it.
Pav Bhaji In A Thai Twist – missed it .. neither here nor there … no flavours . Could have had some spiciness or a Thai touch .
Since its new i m sure people from south Bombay will be raring to go and spend quality time.
